Based on testing performed by Opera Software, this device supports Opera Mini 4.

Known issues with Opera Mini

Sony Ericsson W550 phones with the very first firmware version might occasionally restart when running Opera Mini. This issue has been resolved in newer firmware versions from Sony Ericsson.

To find out what firmware version your W550 has go to Menu - Settings - Update Service - Software Version. If the second version number reads R4AB048 then we recommend that you upgrade your firmware. If it reads something else, like R4BA041, then you should be safe.

You can upgrade your firmware "Over The Air" in that menu (traffic charges might apply) or contact your local Sony Ericsson service center for help.

Point your phone's WAP browser to http://mini.opera.com/ and click on Download Opera Mini.
Answer 'Yes' to all installation messages and enjoy browsing the full Web, right on your mobile phone!

Note to North-American users

Opera Mini is available to all Sprint and Cingular customers. Availability for T-Mobile customers is dependent on the subscription plan. BREW-enabled phones, including Verizon, are currently not supported.
